At the booth of DB Schenker (together with DB Cargo in hall 6, booth F09), a wide range of logistics solutions will be presented. One focus is the use of VR technology. For example, in forklift training, where serious gaming elements are associated with a complex VR environment. A highlight for trade fair visitors: you can try yourself as a forklift driver. You can go through different elements of forklift training on a driver’s seat equipped with sensors and control pedals and using VR glasses. This forklift training will not only effectively supports all safety instructions, but can also reduce the training period.

Visitors will also find a 3D printer at the booth to discuss potential applications of additive manufacturing along the supply chain.

Digitization also in rail freight transport

Further highlights will be presented by DB Cargo. The company introduces innovative developments in rail freight transport: what is the potential in data generated by vehicles equipped with sensors? An example of this data usage is the individual maintenance illustrated by a live demonstration on a model railroad. The fact that digitization in rail transport can also be effective and attractive for the customer can also be seen in the booking portal “myRailportal”. This, too, is one of the topics you can obtain information about at the DB Cargo exhibition stand.

LogiMAT honors innovation

In addition to events such as the “Best Product” award ceremony, in which innovative products are awarded, the framework program of LogiMAT includes, as in previous years, interesting lectures by industry-relevant company representatives. At the supporting Innovation Forum, DB Schenker will be involved twice on the opening day: with Christa Stienen – CHRO Cluster DE / CH – on “Bullshit Bingo: New Work – The Reality Check in Logistics” and with CIO / CDO Markus Sontheimer on “Digitization of logistics – hype or reality?”.
