The future of the logistics industry becomes apparent in Munich: DB Schenker will be presenting itself at the leading trade fair “transport logistic” in Munich from 4 to 7 June. Autonomous electric trucks: DB Schenker and Einride start the T-Pod | logistik aktuell

DB Schenker and Einride launched the installation for the first commercial use of a T-pod – an all-electric, autonomous truck

DB Schenker is already bringing tomorrow’s logistics and mobility to its customers around the globe. “With our competent booth, we want to show our customers and other interested parties how we are already shaping the logistics of the future today,” says Karl-Heinz Emberger, CEO at Schenker Deutschland AG. “This trade fair is the ideal platform for us to set the cornerstones for future services in direct contact with our customers and partners.”

Digitization and automation are important topics at the fair. For example, DB Schenker is introducing the world’s first autonomous electric truck in Germany for the first time. The T-Pod was developed in cooperation with the Swedish start-up company Einride and is the first truck in the world to be road-legal for commercial operation. DB Schenker has recently been using this vehicle for transports in Jönköping, Sweden.
In addition, DB Schenker will introduce the extended digital booking platform “connect 4.0”. It makes B2B logistics easier than ever: goods can be priced, ordered and tracked online.

Digital tools for everyday life

In addition, DB Schenker will be demonstrating concrete digital tools for everyday work: the scanning glove “ProGlove”, for example, will be on display at the trade fair. It is revolutionizing warehousing work, making scanning faster, safer, and easier. Gamemification applications such as computer games make employee training more exciting and more targeted.

“Thanks to digital innovations, we can continuously develop our services and products,” says Emberger. “I’m really looking forward to the exchange and the talks at the fair.”

“#transportlogistic2019 in Munich: DB Schenker is going to present real innovations and clever logistics solutions for its customers. We’re looking forward to it!“

Rail freight traffic of the future

The possibilities offered by the smart, intelligent freight wagons equipped with sensor technology will be demonstrated by a miniature railway at the DB Cargo stand. Digital platforms, modern multi-system locomotives and innovative freight cars are among the highlights at the fair stand and show the range of Europe’s largest freight rail.
